The Department of Irrigation has stated that there is a possibility of minor flooding in the lowlands around the Kuda Ganga which is a tributary of the Kalu Ganga.
By issuing an amber flood warning, the department has stated that rain is continuing in the catchment areas of Kuda Ganga, and accordingly, minor flooding may occur in the lowlands around Bulathsinhala, Madurawala and Palindanuwara in the next 3 to 24 hours.
Due to this, there is a high risk of inundation of the by-roads that have passed through the low lands around the Kuda Ganga, and the people living in those areas and the motorists are requested to deal with the situation with great care.
