It is reported that a van driven by a foreigner collided with an army bus and the foreigner was seriously injured and admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital.
It is said that this accident occurred when the van collided with the army bus which was traveling from Colombo to Galle to participate in a ceremony while entering the Galle road from a side road.
It is said that the injured foreigner is an English national residing in the country and the Hikkaduwa Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
