It is reported that the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe has issued a gazette notice regarding the establishment of a special investigation unit with the aim of preventing sports-related offences.
That unit will be effective from 15.02.2023 for three years, Assistant Superintendent of Police W.A. as its director. Mr. Jayanath Wanasinghe has been appointed.
