A LACK OF KIRI SAMBA.

Chairman of All Ceylon Small and Medium Scale Rice Producers Association B.K. Mr. Ranjith is reported to have said.

The chairman of the association who commented further in this regard,

“These days, there is a severe shortage of keri samba in the market. By now, the sale of keri samba has been stopped in general stores and supermarkets. There is also a big shortage of keri samba in the Marandagahamula rice market. Today, keri samba is sold at prices above the control price of 250, 300 rupees. The Minister of Commerce has been informed that the hotel owners are in dire straits, and today even a charity has not been able to find Keeri Samba.

In the coming days, the price of rice will increase by another 10 rupees. But if we can’t control the price of kiri samba, we have to come up with an alternative.”
