It is reported that President Ranil Wickramasinghe said while attending the 129th Annual General Conference of the Colombo Tea Traders Association that a new program is needed to advance the plantation industry in Sri Lanka, including tea, and it should be an excellent design combined with modern digital technology.
Also, the President mentioned that the tea industry still has the strength to play a wider role in the country’s economy and that the problems in the sector should be identified and prepared for its transformation with innovation.
