Yesterday (13th) in Colombo yesterday (13th) the report of the committee appointed under the chairmanship of Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya to find strategies for generating new sources of revenue for the state was handed over to President Ranil Wickramasinghe to Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe. It is reported that the minister made the announcement while attending a press conference.
Also, Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has further stated that it is not expected to legally impose new taxes on tax payers, and according to this report, it has been proposed to further expand the tax base.
