It is reported that from today (04) the public has been given the opportunity to meet their needs for the services provided by the Motor Transport Department under an automated telephone system and by visiting the website.
As a solution to the existing heavy traffic, it is said that this online appointment booking process will be introduced to cover the branch offices located in the 25 districts of the island.
You can make an appointment through the automated phone system or visit the website.
Mr. Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe, Commissioner General of Motor Transport, who commented on the new system starting today,
“It is mandatory for all clients to book their respective appointment on the respective date and attend for the work. It was first implemented during Covid. We have introduced an automated phone number called 2 117 116. It automatically provides the service you need in all three languages.”
The Commissioner General of Motor Transport has stated that this is expected to provide an efficient and effective service.
“In addition, we have introduced a website. They have the facility to get the service they need through the website https://dmtappointments.dmt.gov.lk/. The main thing to know about this is to come and get the services within the scheduled hours.”
