Police say that a person was shot at around 10.45 am today (6) in Ranna Kahadamodara area.
The person who was shot has been admitted to Tangalle Base Hospital in serious condition and the injured person is a resident of Kahadamodara area.
It is said that he works as a skipper of a multi-day fishing vessel.
The suspect has been identified and the police say that he shot the victim in the head with a T-cut type firearm.
The police suspect that the shooting was due to a personal dispute, the police said.
The Hungama police are investigating the incident.
