It is reported that the Panadura Special Crime Investigation Unit has arrested a woman with dual citizenship who cheated more than 50 lakh rupees by claiming to send it to Canada.
Police say that the arrested woman is a resident of Malambe area and she works as an accountant in Canada.
A senior police officer has said that the Panadura Superintendent of Police office has received four complaints and many other police stations in the island have received complaints.
The police say that the suspect has been hiding from the police for about eight years and was arrested in the Malambe area while she was on her way for another police work.
