It is reported that the Vavuniya police arrested a person yesterday (21) who robbed three houses and two temples of five lakh rupees worth of money and jewellery.
This suspect has stolen a lot of jewelry and many items from a temple from two houses in Kurumankadu area of Vavuniya and from a house in Vairavapuliyankulama area. It is said that this suspect was trapped in an investigation conducted by the Vavuniya police using an official dog regarding the theft of a sound system from a temple in Vavuniya last time.
Some of the stolen goods have been recovered from his house.
It is reported that the suspect is a 21-year-old man and will be produced before the Vavuniya court.
