A PETITION FROM THE NATIONAL PEOPLE’S POWER TO THE SUPREME COURT.

It is reported that National People’s Party Secretary Nihal Abeysinghe, former Member of Parliament Sunul Hadunnetthi and Member of Parliament Acharya Harini Amarasuriya have submitted a petition to the Supreme Court demanding a ruling that there has been a violation of basic human rights due to the non-holding of the local government elections that were to be held on March 09. .

It is reported that thirty-five people have been named as respondents including the Government Press Officer, the Chairman of the Election Commission, the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Attorney General, the Inspector General of Police, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and members of the Council of Ministers.
