It is reported that today (14) a complaint has been made by the security officer to the Balangoda Police that the service weapon belonging to a security officer of Ratnapura District Member of Parliament Mr. Akila Saliya Ellawala has gone missing.
According to the complaint, it is reported that the senior security officer left the firearm in a bag in a room belonging to the security department of Mr. Akila Saliya Ellawala’s house in Balangoda and went on leave a few days ago.
Since he returned to work and did not have the firearm, a complaint has been made to the Balangoda Police about this and accordingly, according to the instructions of the Acting Station Commander of the Balangoda Police, Inspector Jayatissa, a group of officers, including the Station Commander of the Crime Division, Police Inspector Pushpakumara, are reported to be conducting further investigations in this regard.
