Last night (14) km on the Southern Expressway. It is reported that two people died and two others were injured in an accident where a motor vehicle collided with a lorry parked near post 35.9 due to a technical fault.
It is reported that while the lorry was driving from Pinnaduwa towards Kottawa due to a technical fault, while it was stopped on the road for inspection, a car driving in the same direction hit the back of the lorry.
It is said that four people who were traveling in the car were injured in the accident and admitted to Nagoda hospital, two aged 70 and 75 died.
Police are conducting further investigations.
