Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, a former health minister and a minister in the current government, has been jailed on suspicion of fraud, including providing inferior medicines to the public.

He came to the back door of the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday (02) and was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department about 10 hours later. Accordingly, he was brought to court today (3) as a suspect for importing substandard drugs.
Accordingly, the minister who was brought before the Colombo Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court was ordered to be remanded until the 15th of this month.
