Homagama Headquarter Police say that two young women who went to cross the road in Homagama Galawilawatta area collided with a van and were thrown near a lorry which was running in the opposite lane.
The van that caused the accident ran away after the incident and a police officer on traffic duty chased the van for about a kilometer and arrested its driver, the police say.
