Yesterday afternoon (24th) in Welikada prison, there was a news that one inmate had abused another inmate.
It is reported that this abuse happened to a 29-year-old woman who was sentenced to 6 years in prison for corruption. Reportedly, the abuser was a 52-year-old woman who was sentenced to death for murder.
It is reported that when the 29-year-old lady went to the toilet for her body work, the 52-year-old lady broke in and sexually abused the 29-year-old lady. It is stated that a 45-year-old woman witnessed this incident.
Borella Police has received statements from all these three and says that further investigations are going to be carried out regarding the incident.
