The Malwathu faction’s chief leader Most Reverend Thibbatuwe Sri Sumangala Nahimian says that it is the politicians who create discord between the races.
Unwahasse points out that greedy politicians took the initiative to create ethnic and religious conflicts among the people who lived in harmony.
Most Reverend Thibbatuave Sri Sumangala Prefect has mentioned this when he met a group of representatives of the Commission for Truth, Unity and Reconciliation in Sri Lanka.
“While doing many things for national unity, these politicians are destroying these things. They are the ones who destroy harmony. They talk about creating religious unity, but what they do is different. Even if you make an effort, you will get successful results because of these extremists. There must be an interest of the rulers. Today it is like saying to trees and stones. It doesn’t matter. When was the talk of abolishing the office of executive president? Where in 2012? Now 2024 doesn’t matter. Politicians always deceive people. There is no hope of developing the country in the hope of elections.”
