ADJOURNMENT DEBATE ON MANIFESTO TODAY.

It is reported that the adjournment debate on the government’s policy statement presented to Parliament by President Ranil Wickramasinghe is scheduled to begin today (08).

The communication department of the Parliament states that the debate is scheduled to be held today from 09.30 am to 05.30 pm.

The debate is scheduled to be held tomorrow.

There, the proposals under the Essential Public Service Act are to be approved without debate.

The fifth session of the 09th Parliament started yesterday under the chairmanship of Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe, where the President presented the policy statement of the government to the Parliament.

However, as soon as the President’s speech began, a group of MPs from several opposition parties, including a group of MPs from the United People’s Force, left the chamber.
