It is reported that the treatment for Agbo Hastiya, who has been seriously ill for over a month after being injured due to the activation of a mounted gun, started yesterday (20).
Anuradhapura, Tirappane, because of the activation of a strapped gun, Agbo the elephant has been injured for more than a month and although the wildlife officials tried to treat him on several occasions, it was not easy to get near him as the elephant was seriously ill. But after a lot of effort, wildlife officials reached Agbo the elephant and his treatment started yesterday (20).
For this purpose, Mr. Ajantha Hidurangala, a Sri Lankan living in England, has donated a stock of drugs worth nearly 7 lakh rupees and the wildlife officials have mentioned that the drugs are enough for about a month and that they will be used to get a faster recovery.
But the Wildlife Minister Pavitra Vanniarachchi has stated that the wildlife department has enough medicines for the treatment of the Agbo elephant.
The wildlife officials have mentioned that they will pay attention to the elephant round the clock.
