A discussion has been held between the Minister of Agriculture and egg producers’ associations regarding the rapid increase in the price of eggs in the market.
In that discussion, egg associations have agreed that from the coming 29th, an egg will cost Rs. 55 to be given to the customer at a price less than 55.
However, the treasurer of the All Ceylon Egg Producers’ Association, Vijaya Alwis, said that the middlemen have increased the price of these eggs.
