It is reported that the reforms of the Electricity Board are planned to be implemented from next week before the final bill is submitted to the Parliament.
The first step is to withdraw from collective agreements and take necessary new policy decisions on financial control. For this purpose, institutions such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank have indicated the assistance they can provide in relation to debt restructuring, especially for financial audit, human resource audit and legislation. It is reported that an agreement has already been reached to get support.
All these facts were revealed during a discussion to review the progress on the Ceylon Electricity Board restructuring plan.
