AN 11TH GRADER COMMITTED SUICIDE BECAUSE OF A PRINCIPAL. THE NIKAVERATIYA POLICE HAVE HIDDEN THE FACTS.

A sad news has been reported that a child has committed suicide due to daily questioning to a boy who is always sleeping in the classroom, “Are you hitting ice?” A boy named Kalana, who studied in the 11th year of Kumbukweva Tumbulla Maha Vidyalaya, Helogama, Nikaveratiya Police Area, committed suicide on the 13th.

Although there were reports that a similar incident had taken place in that school before, our investigations were unable to find out the details of the incident. The parents of the child who faced this incident are K. Dhammika Priyasad and Taxila Dharmapriya.

The school principal frequently comes to the class and accuses the child of using drugs, it has become an unbearable pressure for the child. The teacher in charge of the classes (Upali) has made this accusation by contacting the boy’s father. Just as this child is not addicted to any drug, the father has constantly explained that the child is banging his head on the desk in the classroom due to frequent headaches due to the condition of sem/penis. But it is reported that this teacher did not believe the father, no matter how clearly he said it.

All these things make the child unable to bear the shame. The affected child has refused to go to school. Because of this, the father once went to school to discuss this matter and the teacher in charge of the class scolded the child in the same way. It is said that the child, who could not bear them, stood up in the middle of the class one day and shouted that he does not use any drugs.

If the child’s father and other children have given the above information clearly; It is problematic how such people with mental disabilities who made life hell for the child, who roamed the earth for 16 years, hanged the soul of that innocent person in the bedroom and led/caused/paved the way for it to roam freely in this society?. It is also said that the teachers have scared the children by not allowing the children to testify in the inquest. Is the Sri Lanka Police Station Commander sleeping? Why does he hide these facts that we can find? What will happen to the children of our country tomorrow due to non-implementation of their law?. We have obtained all these facts with evidence. Then Sri Lanka does not need a police department. Journalists and institutions are enough. Mr. Inspector General of Police, look into all the matters that have been covered up by the investigation team including Nikaveratiya Police Station Officer and file a case against the concerned principal and teacher under the Penal Code of Ceylon and make arrangements to straighten the law.
