It is reported that the driver of one of the lorries was seriously injured and taken to the hospital in an accident where a lorry collided with another lorry in the Kahathuduwa area of the Southern Expressway.
While both the lorries were driving towards Colombo, the lorry in front heard a sound and stopped on the side of the road at about 3.9 km. Emergency rescue officers of the Police Special Task Force who arrived at the scene immediately after the accident took out the driver who was trapped in the lorry and admitted him to the Homagama Base Hospital.
It is said that the lorry has sustained serious damage and the injured driver’s careless driving has caused the accident.
The Southern Expressway Galanigama Traffic Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
