The Disaster Management Center says that an earthquake has occurred in the Buttala-Wellawaya area. Its director Pradeep Kodippili said that the Bureau of Geology and Mines confirmed that an earthquake of about 3 on the Richter scale had occurred.
Due to this, no damage has been done and the disaster management center requests the local residents not to worry about it.
