It is reported that a woman who lived alone in a house in Ahungalla, Egodamulla has died suspiciously.
The Ahungalla Police had started an investigation based on a complaint made saying that the deceased woman had not been seen for many days and that a smell was blowing from the direction of the house where she was staying.
Accordingly, in the further investigation conducted by the police yesterday (19), it was stated that the woman residing in that house was found dead on a chair inside the house.
It has been observed that the body is severely decomposed.
The deceased is a 65-year-old woman residing in Ahungalla, Egodamulla.
It is stated that after conducting the Magistrate’s investigation regarding the dead body, it has been deposited in the mortuary of Balapitiya Hospital.
The Ahungalla Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
