A complaint was received at the Sigiriya Air Force Base last year on November 04 that a T-56 firearm was missing from the base, and according to a long investigation, it has been found that it was stolen by a soldier from Dambulla who was working in the same base.
It is said that the firearm and two magazines belonging to the firearm and bullets were found while being hidden in the Dambulla area.
Accordingly, the Organized Crime and Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Department reports that they are conducting further investigations into the incident.
