It is reported that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the introduction of artificial intelligence courses into the education system.
According to the recommendations made by the task force appointed for the preparation of a national strategy and plan related to artificial intelligence which was discussed in the Cabinet meeting held on 02.10.2023, it is stated that the courses are to be introduced.
One of the components of that strategic plan is the implementation of pilot projects to introduce artificial intelligence in relation to general education.
The Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the President to implement the pilot projects as follows with the support of Microsoft.
- Revising the international curriculum currently implemented by Microsoft based on the recommendations of the National Institute of Education and starting a proposed pilot project from the 8th grade in schools that have the necessary basic human resources.
- Digitization of schools selected for the pilot project under the facilities provided by Microsoft.
- Training of 100 teachers who teach the subject of information and communication technology as trainers by Microsoft institutes.
