It is reported that black flags have been hoisted at the main flagpole of Jaffna University and its surroundings in protest of today’s National Independence Day.
It is also reported that the Jaffna University Students’ Union has issued an announcement to close all shops in both the North and East provinces and make today (4) a day of mourning and a full hartal and a protest march has also been organized from Jaffna to Batticaloa.
