The police have informed that the drivers using the Galle mouth road have been advised to use alternative routes other than that road.
The police say that it was due to the 75th National Independence Day celebration and its rehearsals.
Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Mr. Nihal Talduwa has further told the drivers to use alternative routes during the rehearsals of the Independence Festival and the day of the Independence Festival.
Commenting further on that
“We especially request the public to use alternative routes during this period, especially the first, second and third mornings of the rehearsals, as well as the 4th day of the festival. We request the drivers and cyclists who intend to use these roads to use alternative routes. You can move freely. Necessary traffic officers have been deployed throughout the city of Colombo. So you can travel without traffic jam. They are requesting to use alternative routes to complete their destination.”
