It is reported that the Cabinet has approved the President’s proposal to create a ‘Gaza Children’s Fund’ to provide relief to those affected by the violence in Gaza.
The President has also instructed all ministries and government agencies to give up Iftar celebrations and contribute to this fund.
The Sri Lankan Government’s donation of $1 million will be distributed through official UN agencies to encourage the contribution of affected children and citizens.
