CASTLEREAGH, MAUSSAKALE WATER LEVEL DOWN.

It is reported that the water level in Maussakale and Castleree reservoirs is dropping rapidly with the severe dry weather in the Central Highlands for about a month.

Today (19) am As of 06:00, the water level of Maussakale and Castleree reservoirs has dropped from the overflow level to 13 feet 5 inches and 08 feet respectively, the engineers in charge of those reservoirs have said.

The 06 power plants of Lakshapana, New Lakshapana, Canyon, Polpitiya, Wimalasurendra and Broadland under the Lakshapana Hydroelectric Power System, which belong to the National Hydroelectric Power System, are mainly supplied with water from the two reservoirs of Maussakale and Castleree.
