CHINA OUT OF HYBRID POWER PLANT PROJECT IN THE NORTH – INDIA’S FORTUNES TURN.

In January 2021, Sri Lanka had awarded a contract to Chinese company “Sinosar Etechwin” to install a hybrid renewable energy system on the islands of Nainathiv, Delft or Nadunthiv and Analativ off the coast of Jaffna and a few days after President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s visit to New Delhi for this project.  It is reported that Sri Lanka has issued a tender to choose India instead of China.

It is stated that the Ceylon Electricity Board had recently invited tenders to implement this project using a grant of 12 million dollars from India.
