A complaint with 43 charges will be presented on 09/10/2021 against defrauding and corrupting the property belonging to the Buddhist order, which is said to have been committed by Mr. Pradip Nilanga Dela of the Diyawadana Nilam of Sri Dalada Palace, Kandy. The higher officials of the Sri Lanka Police Department did not allow even a preliminary investigation of the complaint. However, at this time, the investigation of the complaint has started. That is according to the order of the Inspector General of Police.
Mr. Sri Nishanka Mayadunna, the chairman of the Sri Ravana Lanka National Organization, who submitted the complaint, continued to raise his voice against it. Also, a number of Sri Lankan journalists joined hands with him and a veteran journalist Mr. Chamuditha Samarawickrama had given the opportunity to spread the word about it through his YouTube channel. Also, Mr. Dhananjaya Naranbadda, a veteran journalist of TNL television, covered the incident in detail through TNL television. Also several Kandy local residents and several other YouTube channels talked about this.
However, with the blessings of all these people as well as the Sri Lankan Buddhist people, about one year and 6 months later, the Criminal Investigation Department has started the investigation of the allegations. Accordingly, on 27th 01 2023, i.e. tomorrow, the president of Sri Ravana Lanka National Organization has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department. That is to get preliminary statements to start investigations. The Criminal Investigation Department has planned to carry out the investigation in a very comprehensive and formal manner in the manner of reporting internal information.
The organization has worked to create the necessary background so that Sri Lankan Buddhists can be confident that this test will be conducted properly. Focusing and starting the tests in this way will create a lot of opportunities for Sri Lanka to undergo a huge change in the coming times. It is a very good action to decide to investigate this complaint made during the time of the current Inspector General of Police Mr. Wickramaratne.
