Did the electrical engineers lie?

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that in January 2023, electricity will not be cut between 08:00 and 10:00 hours.
The Minister stated this in response to the statement made by the electrical engineers that the power cut may be extended up to 10 hours after the next week due to the lack of coal for the Norochchole power plant.
However, at a press conference held yesterday (22) in Colombo, the President of the Electrical Engineers Union, Nihal Weeraratne, stated that his union informed about the electricity crisis as a matter of responsibility.
