The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization had donated a stock of 36,000 metric tons of mud fertilizer to Sri Lanka and after two cropping seasons, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that it will provide free mud fertilizer to 12 lakh farmers from today (20).
Today (20) it is reported that 11,537 metric tons of mud fertilizer will be distributed to the farmers in all the districts belonging to the northern and eastern provinces.
Also, the Ministry of Agriculture further stated that other districts have been provided facilities to get fertilizers in the same manner so that the cultivation activities begin.
It is also reported that arrangements have been made to provide this mud fertilizer from all the agricultural centers in the island.
