Dhanushka Gunathilaka, who was injured during the 2020 World Cup cricket tournament, has not been sent back to Sri Lanka.
It was with his arrest yesterday (05) on a charge of woman abuse.
Accordingly, in response to this, Sri Lanka Cricket stated that due to the recovery of Dhanushka Gunathilaka’s injury, it was done with the aim of getting him as an additional player in the squad.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Institute has also stated that the decision to retain him in Australia was taken by all officials including the team manager and the selection committee.
