EVERY YEAR 40000 PEOPLE GET AWAY FROM DRUG USE.

The Dangerous Drugs Control Board has reported that about 40,000 people quit using drugs every year.

There is currently a shortage of drugs in the country. Anyone can get rid of drugs. The Dangerous Drugs Control Board has appointed an officer named Preventive Treatment and Rehabilitation Development Officer in each Divisional Secretariat. Shakya Nanayakkara, chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board, said that he can get any advice to get rid of drug use by meeting that officer.

“Recovery from drug addiction requires prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. In future, 02 police stations will be added and rehabilitation centers will be established in 200 police stations across the island. About 15,000 drug addicts have been rehabilitated by these rehabilitation centers. Shakya Nanayakkara, chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board, has further said that drug addicts who come forward voluntarily and through the courts are rehabilitated in this way.
