It is reported that the Ministry of Agriculture has said that steps will be taken to provide the fallow fields in the wet region for other agricultural activities.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera mentioned that due to the inability to cultivate rice, many paddy lands in the wet zone have been left unused.
According to this year’s budget proposal, it is said that the abandoned land has been planned to be used for other crops and animal husbandry.
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has mentioned that steps will be taken for that from next month.
Accordingly, he has stated that by submitting an application to the Agricultural Development Center he belongs to, he can get the necessary approval for the cultivation.
