It is reported that the Irrigation Department has issued an amber colored notice that several areas may experience flooding due to heavy rains in the upper catchment areas of the Ging Ganga.
The announcement further states that flooding may occur in Welivitiya-Divitura, Baddegama, Niagama, Neluwa, Thavalama, Akmeemana, Nagoda, Elpitiya and Bope Poddala areas.
The department also requests people to be very concerned about this situation.
