The Disaster Management Center says that forest fires have increased with the dry weather.
Its director Mr. Pradeep Kodippili mentioned that about 25 such incidents have been reported across the island in the last few months.
Pradeep Kodippili has mentioned that a special program has been implemented to take legal action against people who set forest fires.
In the meantime, it is reported that there is a risk of water sources overflowing due to the burning of reserves in the western slopes of the central mountains these days with the extremely dry weather.
