It is reported that a 19-year-old suspect who stole gold worth more than seventeen lakhs from the residence of retired DIG Sarath Lugoda in Kohuwala has been arrested in Anamaduwa area.
The suspect was arrested by the Mt. Division Criminal Investigation Division.
It is reported that on August 22 of last year, when no one was home, the suspect entered the house and stole these gold items and the stolen gold items were placed in different places and all the gold items were melted.
The police have stated that the suspect is a person involved in many thefts and wanted by the police.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the court.
