The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement that the Northeast Monsoon is gradually establishing itself across the island.
Accordingly, rains may occur in the North, East, Uva and North-Central provinces from time to time, while in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or at night.

Apart from this, the Department of Meteorology kindly requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
