It is stated that the Minister of Transport Bandula Gunawardena has stated that the drivers should be informed that the busses running on the Highwell route will be taken steps to revoke the licenses of the buses that are doing activities contrary to the relevant decision.
Giving further information, the minister said, “Due to the fact that buses stop, drop off and load passengers on the high level road in front of the multi-modal transport center, there has been a risk of road accidents and the lives of passengers being insecure. We have come to a decision that parking for loading or unloading passengers on High Level Road in front of Kottawa Multimodal Transport Center is strictly prohibited. All buses transporting passengers traveling on this route will be ordered to enter and proceed through the Multimodal Transport Center from March 1st. This rule applies to all buses. Otherwise, if complaints are received, the passport will have to be canceled after an investigation.” It has been stated that
