It is reported that a three-wheeler and a bus collided at the Kalutara Wadiamankada junction on the Galle-Colombo main road and the three-wheeler driver was seriously injured and died after being admitted to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital.
A married man named Sugath Dayananda Silva, aged 52, who was a resident of Kalutara Waskaduwa area, has died.
It is said that the deceased was employed as a three-wheeler driver and the accident may have taken place during a taxi journey.
The three-wheeler was traveling at a high speed from Panadura towards Kalutara and the three-wheeler was not able to stop due to pressing the brakes of the bus in front of the three-wheeler, so it slid into the other lane and then collided with a bus that came in front of it.
It is reported that the bus that collided with the three-wheeler was carrying a group of people who were on their way to a wedding.
