It is reported that the Ministry of Health has informed a patient with fever as Dengue is on the rise not to take any medicine other than paracetamol until they see a doctor.
Starting the National Dengue Prevention Week, its main program was held yesterday (07) centered on the Wijerama Rajamaha Temple.
In addition to this, Health Secretary Expert Dr. Palitha Mahipala stated that during the investigation of dengue deaths, it has been revealed that the deaths have occurred due to the delay in hospitalization as well as various complications through taking various drugs in addition to paracetamol.
Therefore, the secretary has mentioned that in order to control dengue, he must keep his premises clean and this is his duty.
It is reported that Acting Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon, Director of National Dengue Control Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Colombo District Health Medical Director, Public Health Inspectors and others participated in this program.
