It is reported that the review work related to the second tranche of the International Monetary Fund’s extended credit facility is scheduled to begin today (07).
Minister of State for Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe mentioned that representatives of the International Monetary Fund will meet President Ranil Wickramasinghe this morning and start the review process.
Accordingly, the Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe has mentioned that the review activities will be held for about two weeks.
“After meeting the President in the morning, holding this initial meeting, they will conduct a two-week long review with the necessary officials and other institutions. After completing this review very well, we will complete the necessary steps to receive the third installment. It will be available around June. But we hope to successfully face the long review that needs to be completed for that. Two installments have been received so far. The first installment is 330 million dollars and the second installment is 330 million dollars. The third installment is a similar amount.”
