Yesterday (30) the bodies of an elephant and an elephant which were allegedly killed and secretly buried in Tirappane – Orukmankulam area have been exhumed on court orders.
Anuradhapura veterinary officers have conducted the relevant post-mortem examination.

The post-mortem examination has revealed that there was one tusk elephant among the two bodies recovered and the tusk elephant and the elephant had been electrocuted.
The 47-year-old suspect local council member has been arrested by the officers of the Tirappane wildlife office in Uttiduwa area. After the accident, he will be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court and will be remanded until the 2nd.
