The Irrigation Department announced that they will open 04 floodgates each in Deduru Oya and Rajangana Reservoir within the next 24 hours.
Also, the director of the Water Management Division of the Irrigation Department, Engineer D. Abeysirivardhana said that the sluice gates of the other reservoirs which are already open will be able to be closed by this afternoon (27).
He further mentioned that the capacity of 88 reservoirs belonging to the Irrigation Department has exceeded 62% due to the rainfall received over the last three days.
In the next 24 hours, people around Deduru Oya should be alert.
