Go to India for cheap Indo-Sri Lanka boat service starting April 29 ….. 50 dollars a ticket….
The Ministry of External Affairs of India says that the preliminary arrangements for the operation of the passenger boat service between Kankasanture in Jaffna and Karaikal in India from April 29 are being prepared these days.
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India confirmed yesterday (26) about this boat service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India further announced that two immigration and emigration offices will be set up by the two countries in the Kankasanture area of Jaffna and the Karaikal area of India.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that there is no hope of deploying state-level vessels of both countries for this boat service for the first time and that the company called Inter Sri (INTSRI) will start passenger transportation between India and Sri Lanka according to a tender procedure called by the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
150 passengers can travel at a time and each passenger can carry a weight of up to 100 kg.
The amount to be paid for a boat trip ticket has been introduced as 50 US dollars.
