Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila says the entire nation was happy to ensure an uninterrupted supply of fuel to Sri Lanka at a time when even the world’s powers are facing an energy crisis.
The Minister further stated that due to the heavy rains, the CEB has stored 13,500 tons of crude oil in unused tanks and the propaganda that there could be a power cut due to non-importation of crude oil is a lie.
The Minister has expressed these views while participating in a media briefing held today (18).
The Minister also pointed out that when the people of the country come together and fill up the fuel tanks and take them to the cans, there will automatically be a shortage of fuel.
